Killer Covers Design Service

Website Building Guide

Before I tell you all about Killer Covers, I have a confession to make. You see, I thought I'd save myself a little money by purchasing one of those fancy software programs that allow you to design your own covers for ebooks.

I knew that I would be writing several ebooks and so I wanted to save some cash by being able to create my own ebook covers. For the price of hiring a professional to design a single cover, I could purchase a software program that would let me design as many covers as I wanted. Smart, right?

I researched all the available ecover design programs and settled on a very popular one that is heavily promoted. The landing page for this product showed all these beautiful ebook covers and convinced me that the software would do all the heavy lifting, allowing someone like me, with no real design experience or skill, to create compelling ebook covers with just a few clicks of the mouse.

The Do-It-Yourself Approach

I spent hours trying to create a good cover design. Right away, I was disappointed by the lack of flexibility of this software package. I couldn't get my uploaded graphics to look right and there were quite a few design limitations with the program itself. I'm not going to name this popular software package because someone with better design skills might be able to get it to work better. Bad ebook cover

Because I was having problems with uploading my own graphics, I decided simple was better. After almost an hour of fiddling back and forth, my creation was finally done. Yes, folks, the ebook cover you see to the right was the best I could do. I know it's downright ugly. Many of you may have a slightly stronger word you would like to use. It's ok - I can take it. Bring it on!

Killer Covers

It became very clear to me that if I was going to publish ebooks, I was going to need some help with the design of my covers. Enter Vaughan Davidson and his fantastic design service so aptly named Killer Covers. Before I tell you about Vaughan and what he can do for you, you should know that you've already seen his work. Yep, that cover at the very top right of this page was what Vaughan created for me after I gave up on my software program.

Which cover do you think is more appealing, mine or Vaughan's? It's ok - be honest - you won't hurt my feelings.

My Experience with Killer Covers

When you go to the Killer Covers Website, you are immediately drawn in to these fantastic little ebook covers that explode with headlines and color. I knew the minute I went to Vaughan's site that he was the right person for the job.

I wanted Vaughan to design a cover for a future ebook I was writing on website building. Vaughan's policy is that you pay first before you are able to give him any information on the design. I'm not normally used to this type of policy but Vaughan mentions on his site that if you aren't happy with his work, he will instantly refund your money. This guarantee along with the fact that Vaughan was recommended by a trusted source gave me the confidence to prepay for his services.

Once you pay via credit card, you are sent to a form where you describe your business, your target market, ebook title, tag line, artwork, and any other info that will help Vaughan create a mini-masterpiece for you. Within a short period of time, Vaughan will send you an email with questions he might have along with a summary of the project for you to review and approve.

Upon approval, he will start working away and, in one week or less, he will email you a link with the completed artwork. Don't be surprised if Vaughan visits your website in order to choose colors that complement your existing site design.

To save your finished artwork, you simply right-click to save all the posted images to your hard drive. That's it. Simple - quick - effective.

Pricing & Services Overview

At the time of this review, Vaughan was charging $117 for an ebook cover. Here is what you'll receive for your money.

In addition to designing ebook covers, Vaughan also provides designs for software boxes, Ezines, manuals, spiral-bound covers, coupon books, membership cards, jewel cases, and thin reports. Packages are also available that include custom order buttons, product guarantee icons and a header to match your ebook cover.

I've been extremely happy with the quality of Vaughan's work and highly recommend him. I have a lot of additional work that he will be doing exclusively in the future.
